Srinagar, Oct 28: Army organized a medical camp for the people of Sukhnai in Warwan valley of Kishtwar where a massive fire earlier this month gutted 60 houses.
A defence spokesman said the army was one of the first responders to provide relief and health care to the people of Sukhnai.
“The Army has not stopped there. Further augmenting the Government efforts, it organised a medical camp there yesterday providing free medical care to the people and livestock,” he said.
The spokesman said that the team of army doctors and staff had to traverse the inhospitable terrain on foot over four hours carrying heavy loads man packed. “Victor Force Commander Major General Ashok Narula also met the people in Sukhnai and reassured them of all possible help to recover from this tragedy. Besides medicines, the Army also distributed other essential items like rations and solar lanterns,” he said.
