Army organizes medical camp

SRINAGAR, Sept 10: Army today organised a medical camp in Gurez area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A defence spokesman said that the medical camp provided on the spot treatment, free medicines and specialist advice to the villagers evoking very encouraging response wherein large number of locals turned up for the medical assistance.
“The locals belonging to Wampora, Markoot, Mastan, Dawar, Khandiyal and Badwan availed the medical facilities. A joint medical team of doctors from Army Medical Corps, Army Dental Corps and specialists from sub-District Hospital at Dawar attended to the patients and provided quality medical care to the needy locals,” he said, adding that approximately 600 patients including men, women and children benefited from Army initiative.
He said that this occasion was also utilized by the Army to provide stationary items to needy children of the Gurez Valley. “A number of civil dignitaries and Government officials were present during the event,” he added.
