SRINAGAR, Feb 25: Army in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district established a meaningful connect with the youth of Baramulla by organising free tuition classes for needy students of Class IX to XII at various schools.
A defence spokesman said the aim of conducting tuition classes was to provide free education facilities to needy school children of the far flung areas in order to create better future prospects for the students. The students, especially those who could not afford to pay or travel long distance for tuitions turned out in large numbers and have been immensely benefited by the initiative, he said.
“During regular interactions with the locals of Baramulla, Fatehgarh, Sheeri, Jugiar, Heevan and adjoining villages, a request for conduct of tuition classes for the needy children during the winter vacation was made by the locals. Accordingly, tuition classes at three nodal schools namely, Government Senior Secondary School Fatehgarh, Sheeri, Girls Senior Secondary School Mir Sahib, Old Town Baramulla and Boys Secondary School Khawajabagh, Baramulla were conducted during the winter break in which over 500 students including 250 girls from 16 villages participated,” the defence spokesman said.
