Army organizes free medical camp

JAMMU, Mar 5: Under civic action initiative, a free medical camp was organized by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at village Jhangar in Nowshera.
Organized in collaboration with District Medical Authorities and Red Cross Society, the camp was inaugurated by the GOC, Uniform Force.
During the camp, patients were examined by the Civil Medical Officer, Regimental Medical Officer, Nursing Assistants and supporting staff. Much needed specialized medical cover was given to the women, children and elderly people. Approx 1548 persons including 548 females, 373 males and 627 children were treated during the medical camp.
On this occasion, two wheel chairs were presented to the disabled girls. Free medicines were also distributed among  the villagers. Wide publicity for this camp was carried out by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion before organizing the camp in the surrounding areas so that maximum people could avail the medical facilities and get benefitted.
Pertinent to mention that as part of winning the hearts and minds and civic action initiatives, the Rashtriya Rifles has been constantly undertaking a variety of projects for the welfare of the people of J&K.  Under the initiative, various welfare and developmental schemes are conceptualised and under-taken by the Army in a series of on-going initiatives.
