Army organizes eye camp for border villages

POONCH, Jan 19: An eye camp was organized by Hamirpur Battalion under Bhimber Gali Brigade at Chhapardhara in Balakote Sub Sector.
Eye Specialists from Army including a lady doctor provided medical consultation and free medicines to the needy persons. Cataract Surgery of shortlisted patients shall be carried out at 150 General Hospital, shortly.
Initial screening of eye patients was carried out on January 11 and 12 at Bharuti and Dharati villages. On the occasion, the lady doctor also gave a lecture on hygiene and sanitation to women folk of the villages.
Officials from Horticulture Department were also present on the occasion. They delivered lecture on awareness and skill development for the villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Commander, Bhimber Gali Brigade, re-emphasized commitment of Indian Army to provide all necessary assistance to the residents of border villages.
