BHADERWAH, Jan 7: Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah under the aegis of Dharmund based Counter Insurgency Force started a three weeks Candle Making Classes for Women at Chinta, Bhadarwah under Operation Sadhbhavana.
The course aims to assist the needy women to stand on their own feet and earn a niche for themselves in the society. The drive commenced today with strength of 20 women and one instructor.
The project is aimed at to bring about advancement, development and empowerment among the trainees by way of imparting them a skill which would help them to pursue an independent vocation and in turn make them confident and independent individuals.
The commencement of classes was inaugurated by Om Prakash Kotwal, Sarpanch of Jalga Panchayat in presence of Jagdish Kotwal, Numberdar and local villagers.
During his speech, Om Prakash Kotwal remarked that Army has always been on the forefront in organising constructive activities for the locals.
