Army organises seminar on ‘women empowerment’

SRINAGAR, May 3: As part of Chinar Corps Centenary celebrations, a ‘women empowerment’ seminar for the aspiring girls of various schools of Widdipura and adjoining areas was organised at Government Girls High School, Karalviet in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A defence spokesman said the seminar was attended by 368 school girls from various schools of Widdipura. “The series of interactive motivational talks were conducted by renowned women speakers from various fields. The Inspiring lectures by prominent ladies on the occasion incited young minds to express their inhibitions and clear their doubts,” he said.
The audience also witnessed a skit presented by school students on women issues prevailing in society, the defence spokesman said. On the occasion, Commander of Hyderbeig Army Garrison, Brigadier SH Naqvi, was the Chief Guest.
“In his address, he conveyed his gratitude to all prominent dignitaries who graced the occasion especially the ladies. He highlighted that those human civilizations which have respected its women folks and given them their due place in society have survived the test of time,” the spokesman added.
