Army nabs Pakistani national near LoC; Pak hands over Indian

JAMMU: The army today apprehended near Line of Control (LoC) a Pakistani national who had crossed over to the Indian side, apparently accidentally, on a day when Pakistan handed over an Indian woman who had gone across.
The person, identified as Imran from Lahore, was apprehended in Lam area of Rajouri district, Defence spokesman Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
He was later handed over to police for further investigation.
Police said they are investigating the case and questioning Imran about his motive of crossing the LoC to enter into Indian side.
“Initially it seems that he might have accidently crossed over the LoC as no weapon was recovered from his posession,” a police officer said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan today handed over an Indian woman who had purportedly crossed over to the other side of the LoC in Poonch on August 24.
“The Pakistan side today handed over own national who had purportedly crossed over on August 24 in Poonch. She has been identified as Shamim, a resident of Tuglu in Poonch,” the Defence spokesman said. (AGENCIES)
