SRINAGAR, Mar 17: Army today said it installed 35 new generation high power street lights in Wanabal and adjoining areas of Rangreth on city outskirts here.
A defence spokesman said the local residents of Rangreth area approached the Army authorities at Somgarh Military station to address the issue of non availability of street lights at the different stretches on the main road which remain pitch dark during night.
“The project was undertaken by Army under project Sadbhavana and 35 ‘New Generation energy saving and environmental friendly high power LED street lights’ were installed at various parts of Wanabal area which settled the long pending problem of the locals,” he said.
The effort was aimed to create high quality infrastructure and a holistic development of the surrounding environment for the benefit of whole community, the spokesman added.
