SRINAGAR, Sept 4: Army today honoured and paid tributes to slain elite commando at Badami Bagh cantonment here.
The solider Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami was part of elite 9 Para and he laid down his life while fighting militants in Hafruda forests of Kupwara district yesterday, a defence spokesman said. The slain solider hailed from Nainital in Uttarakhand.
“The tributes were paid in a solemn ceremony held at Badami Bagh Cantonment. The Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen Satish Kumar Dua and all ranks of Chinar Corps laid wreath as a mark of honour for the brave soldier. Wreaths were also laid on behalf of the Army Chief and Northern Army Commander,” the defence spokesman said.
