LADAKH, Feb 23: The Army’s 14 Corps under its project ‘Operation Sadhbhavna’ flagged off an elderly persons’ tour to Chandigarh, Dharamshalla and Jammu.
The eight-day goodwill tour comprising of 26 persons hailing from Chushul was flagged off by Lt Gen SK Patyal, GOC 14 Corps.
During the flagging off ceremony, the delegation of education and motivational tour were presented attired in Ladakhi traditional dress.
The tour will enable the elderly people of far flung villages and border areas of Eastern Ladakh to see the outside world and will motivate them to encourage their children and grand children to pursue education and have a better future.
The tour would be visiting various tourist places including religious places.
