UDHAMPUR, May 16: In its endeavor to empower local youth, the Indian Army flagged off 25 youth from Samote, Kotranka, Phalni, Chasana and Budhal to attend a six months skill development course at Delhi and Lucknow.
The skill development course has been organised by Don Bosco Tech Society under Project Himayat- a well organised scheme in partnership with civil administration to support and assist youth from Jammu & Kashmir for generating skill based placement to improve their source of livelihood.
After initial orientation at Jammu centre for first two days, including necessary briefing and counseling by representatives of Don Bosco Tech Society and Government Rural Development Department (Jammu), these trainees will be moving to Delhi and Lucknow. During the course of training of total six months, the youth will be provided SSC complied training in Assistant Electrician, Desktop Publication and Automobile Technician at Delhi and Lucknow based training centres with free boarding, mess and lodging facilities by Don Bosco Technology Society. After the successful completion of training, the youth will be provided employment opportunities in technical corporate sectors preceded by stipend.
