Principal of Asha School, Mohammad Hadi told that according to a survey high percent of children of Kargil region are suffering from disability.
The scenario is mainly attributed to the inclement weather, shortage of fresh vegetables and poor nutrition among women leading to frail babies who run the risk contracting disability due to weak defence, Principal added. More over lack of care during pregnancy (carrying huge loads on back) and primitive medical facilities aggravate the issue.
The Medical Aid Centre, Kargil also being run under Operation Sadbhavna by Indian Army caters this issue and provides free medical care to locals of this region, Principal informed.
