JAMMU, Nov 15: Army’s Udhampur based Sub Area conducted a six day training workshop for local artisans and students from schools and colleges of J&K at Udhampur.
This was conducted as an interface between eminent artists and the local artisans and students, helping them generate self employment and competencies.
Lt Gen DS Hooda, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, felicitated the present eminent artisans for their contribution in training the local artisan and students. The workshop was attended by three hundred students and artists from different parts of the State.
Participants were trained on basic skills of drawing, nuances of painting and woodcraft which boosted the self-confidence of participants. Well known artisans were able to develop technical and conceptual skills among young impressionable students. Army Commander assured that Army will continue supporting the Awaam in every feasible manner with focus on basic amenities and Human Resource Development.
