BARAMULLA, Sept 18: Army is conducting pre screening of Agniveer aspirants in Panzgam area of District Kupwara.
The youth of Kupwara district is displaying outstanding josh to be recruited as Agniveers in Indian Army. Most of them are students and job seekers who are appreciative of the initiative taken by the government for Agniveer Scheme.

When the Government finally announced the Agniveer Scheme after intensive deliberation on planning after gap of two years of COVID 19, youth across the nation who was eagerly waiting for commencement of Recruitment Rallies got a ray of hope again to fulfill their dream to wear the uniform. Youth of Kashmir has also started preparing for the upcoming Agniveer Recruitment Rallies including boys living in far flung areas of Kupwara district.
Army Camp in Panzgam, Kupwara has also come forward to assist them in fulfilling their dream of joining Indian Army by training them on physical aspects, correcting their documentation and written exam by conducting mock test periodically. A total of 82 aspirants have registered for the recruitment rally being conducted till 30 September 2022. A pre screening was conducted to give an idea to aspirants to identify their shortcomings by conducting physical tests, medical check up and documentation.
A total of 72 aspirants had showed their interest and had undergone teats including 1600m race, chin pp, medical check up and documentation. 42 Aspirants passed in running test. Twenty three aspirants cleared all the tests including medical check up and documentation.
The training was being organised for last one month by Army Camp, Panzgam in village Panzgam and Lunahare. Physical standard of these aspirants have improved a lot. Enthusiasm of these young boys was also seen as most of them come by covering distance more than 5-10 Km on foot daily basis.
