SHIMLA, Nov 7: Army chief Gen Bikram Singh ended a two-day visit to the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) at Shimla today, a Defense spokesman said.
The army chief was briefed on the training aspects of the Indian Army by GOC-in-C ARTRAC Lt Gen K Surendra Nath.
During his visit, Gen Singh interacted with officers of ARTRAC and exhorted the think tank of the Indian Army to dedicate their efforts towards integrating technology with training and maintaining the highest traditions of the elite Army.
The Chief of Army staff while addressing the officers highlighted the operational and management challenges which will face the Indian Army of tomorrow. He commended the efforts of ARTRAC being the fountainhead of institutionalised training in preparing the Indian Army soldier of 21 st century.He also appreciated the role being played by ARTRAC in the transformation of the lndian Army for future conflicts.
