JAMMU, Sept 11: Rajouri police and Army today recovered arms and ammunition from a forest area during a search operation launched yesterday evening.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said searches were conducted jointly by police and Army on the basis of information that a cache of arms and ammunition is lying in a forest area of Rajouri’s Manuwala forests near Dhar Sakri village under the jurisdiction of Kandi police station.
Teams of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Rajouri police and 48 Rashtriya Rifles (Romeo Force) were involved in the searches and made recoveries which included two AK rifles, six pistols, four AK magazines, seven pistol magazines, one UBGL, one radio set, one Thoraya phone, 680 Pika gun bullets, 58 AK bullets and eight pistol bullets.
