JAMMU, June 4: Army and police today recovered a consignment of arms and ammunition from village Manyal in Thannamandi area of Rajouri district.
Security personnel launched searches in upper reaches of Azmatabad area of Thannamandi this morning after developing specific information about a dump of arms and ammunition. Recoveries were made from village Manyal this evening.
Recoveries include four pistols with eight magazines and 105 rounds, one AK rifle with two magazines and 54 rounds, packaging material and ropes.
However, no arrests have been made immediately in connection with the recoveries. Police have registered case under 18/20 Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 121/120-B IPC and 7/27 Arms Act at Thannamandi police station for further investigations.
It appears that arms and ammunition had recently been dropped in the area from across and were meant for transportation to the Kashmir valley.
