JAMMU, Dec 1: Army and police today recovered a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives during searches at Rajada forest area of Poonch.
Official sources said troops of Rashtriya Rifles under Romeo Force along with Bomb Disposal Squad and Poonch police conducted joint search operation in Rajada forests after developing specific information about the dump of an arms and ammunition hidden there by the militants.
The searches continued for five hours during which Army and police dug out gunny bags concealed under rocks, which carried consignment of arms and ammunition.
Recoveries included one AK-56 rifle with one magazine, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), three pistols with magazines, six grenades, five grenade fuses, two UBGL grenades, 63 rounds of 9mm and 550 rounds of AK, one radio set and some other items.
Police have registered a case in the recoveries for further investigations. However, no arrests have been made from the spot.
