JAMMU, May 24: Akhnoor Road Market Association (ARMA) today reiterated its demand of smart parking facility.
Addressing a press conference here today, president of the Association Puneet Singh Jamwal said that traders of Akhnoor Road Market are facing lot of hardships particularly from the commencing of the flyover and their businesses have been ruined.
Jamwal said even after the completion of the flyover, their market and business will not grow as there is not any provision of parking on the road and road below the flyover is not that wide to support parking on the road. Stating that the Government has introduced smart parking facility on few locations of Jammu city, he said that the same plan should be implemented under the flyover at Akhnoor Road, Jammu.
He further said that deep drains constructed on both sides of road are 1 to 1.5 feet high from the road, making it difficult for the shopkeepers to park their vehicle in their respective showrooms/shops so they have constructed temporary ramps in the road but once the road is cleared, all these ramps have to be cleared and shopkeepers will have no access to their shops.Jamwal requested Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and save heritage Akhnoor Road market.
