JAMMU, May 26: Association of Recognized Colleges of Health Sciences, in collaboration with Directorate of School Education Jammu, is organizing `Counselling cum Educational Awareness Program’ about Nursing / Paramedical/Pharmacy / Allied Health etc courses in all the districts of Jammu province.
“Intention of ARCHS is to create a comprehensive and interactive platform that will guide students in making well-informed decisions about their educational and career paths after completing their 10th & 12th grade,” said M S Katoch, President of the Association, while interacting with the mediapersons here today.
He said that due to lack of awareness among the student community regarding avenues / opportunities in the healthcare sector, the applicants for the said programmes are less in numbers as compared to the enrolment ratio from other parts. It was observed by the members that there is a need to educate the students about the scope of these health care courses, he added.
While elaborating, Katoch further stated that the program is beginning from. 27th May 2024 in the Shri Ranbir Higher Secondary School, Jammu from 9:30 AM onwards and continuing on 28th May 2024 at Govt Higher Secondary School RS Pura, on 29th May 2024 at Govt Higher Secondary School (Boys) Akhnoor & on 30th May 2024 at GMHSS Marh.
He also appealed to the students of Government as well as private schools to come and grab this golden opportunity to secure their career as these are the only programs that come with job opportunities not only nationaly but globally also due to tremendous increase in the demand of the Healthcare professionals nationally and globally which has gone multifold after Covid-19.
Katoch further informed that the association is going to conduct similar programs in all the districts of Jammu Province such as Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch and information regarding the same shall be available on their website at www.archsjk.com.
This initiative shall not only act as a direct contact between students and institution but will avoid all kinds of exploitation by third party agencies, he added.
