JAMMU, Feb 6: APS Nagrota bubbled up with activity when it celebrated its spectacular annual day entitled “Colors of Life” in the school campus.
The bedazzling performances and the giving away of the annual awards was graced by the chief guest Brig Ajay H Chauhan, VSM, Chairman APS Nagrota.The luminaries gracing the occasion included Brig GS Talwar, Station Commander and distinguished officers of White Knight Corps.
The programme started with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the chief guest which was followed by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati through a dance performance.
The dancing stars of classes I, II and III enthralled the audience as they tapped their little feet to the tune of melodies of the modern era. The little children of class IV and V performed a skit on the theme of unemployment in “Mere Hisey ki Dhoop”.
The audience applauded the efforts and talent of the young children who presented Bihu Dance, Peacock Dance followed by English Play-Pandora. The Hindi play by senior students was a scythe on the social evils prevalent in the society. Bhangra presented by class X and XI students received huge applause. The entire programme revolved around the theme of “Colors of Life”.
The Annual Report was read out by the Principal, Maninder Kaur Kakkar, enumerating the achievements made by the school in various curricular and co- curricular activities during the session 2014-2015.
The programme came to an end with the National Anthem.
