The appointment of veteran diplomat G Parthasarathy as a new Chancellor for Central University of Jammu is a welcome step under the circumstances when the Governor N N Vohra has the administrative and executive works on his shoulders under the Governor’s rule. Having tremendous experience as high commissioner, Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs and as Consul General for different countries the name G Parthasarathy is self explaining.We have been also continuously watching him in debates which shows his expertise and deep understanding of the things.
In modern times when the universities have become the political hubs all over the country and even abroad it is expected that under his chancellorship, the Central University of Jammu will develop in all the spheres. Though, it is understandable that the executive powers for running the universities are mostly in the hands of the Vice Chancellors but the appointment of G Parthasarathy will definitely have a positive impact on the education and overall development of the University.
