JAMMU, June 3: Agriculture Employees Coordination Committee (AECC) has urged upon the Chief Minister and the State Chief Secretary to appoint a technical expert as Director Agriculture , Jammu.
AECC, an umbrella organization of all the employees’ bodies of the Agriculture department including, All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Association, Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduates Association, All Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Employees Association and Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA), in a joint meeting urged upon the State Govt to appoint a technical person as Director Agriculture, Jammu.
They resolved to resist any move to post non-technical director from other cadres, which is lying vacant after the retirement of technical director of the Department. They said due to inordinate delay in posting of Director Agriculture, despite availability of well qualified, experienced and technical officers, a confusion has been created in the Department.
Cadre is apprehensive that that KAS non-technical lobby is working over time in corridors of power to install and gobble up technical Agriculture cadre post of Director Agriculture, Jammu. Already ex-cadre posts of Director Command Jammu and Director Command Srinagar have been grabbed by non-technical KAS lobby. They alleged that despite clear standing Govt guidelines, the non-technical people are being placed against technical posts in violation of norms and rules.
The employees while appealing to the Chief Minister and Agriculture Production Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone to post technical director, also held brief protest in the Agriculture complex here today.
