JAMMU, Aug 18: All Jammu and Kashmir State Akali Dal (SAD) has urged upon the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint son of the soil, Air Marshal Devinder Singh Khajuria, as Governor of State or Chairman of any Commission being extra ordinary intellectual.
In a meeting of the SAD held here today under the chairmanship of S Gajan Singh, president of the organization, the members projected the outstanding contributions of this son of the soil. They said he always remained meritorious in his studies and work place and after obtaining engineering degree in Mechanical from REC Srinagar he joined IAF. He became Aeronautical Engineer.
During service he was honoured with `Shourya Chakra’ and also represented Indian continent to Antarctica 7th Scientific Expedition. He was also selected for diplomatic assignment in Russia. He was promoted to the rank of Air Marshal and was appointed as Director General System at Air Headquarters. In July 13 he was appointed as AOM as head of Engineering organization in Indian Air Force.
The SAD leaders urged upon the Union Government to appoint Devinder Singh Khajuria as Governor of a state or chairman of any Commission for his outstanding contributions for the country .
