Sir,
We the small children of our society, particularly school going, appeal to the Jammu Municipal Corporation Commissioner to protect us from the daily threat to our lives from the stray, mad, ferocious and rabid dogs mushrooming in our Jammu city day and night. Unfortunately, besides other victims, almost once a week a school going little child becomes prey to these stray dogs. These dogs being animals generally attack the little children/students and because of apprehension of biting any time, lot of physical as well as mental terror and trauma remain looming at large in our minds.
It is pertinent to mention here that our local newspapers are kind enough to project this common grievance oftenly but we do not know why the concerned authorities are helpless. Now the time and need of the hour is for a serious look and action by the concerned authorities to this serious common problem which is threatening the human lives very cheaply and wildly. About this, even our State High Court so many times, from time to time, expressed serious concern and expected immediate remedial measures by the municipal corporations of Jammu as well as Kashmir.
Thus, this appeal is in the shape of a reminder to Jammu Municipal Corporation to come our rescue on priority basis by evolving some viable method so that for the larger interest of Jammu people, these stray dogs – who are mad, ferocious and rabid are put to their permanent sleep.
Let our JMC Commissioner and his team think over it as a first and foremost priority.
Yours etc….
D.S. Shivam,
Student of DPS, Jammu.
