Apni Party’s DDC member booked for assault

Srinagar, July 4: A District Development Council (DDC) member of the J&K Apni Party was today booked for physically assaulting two revenue officers in the north Kashmir district of Bandipora.
Those who have been assaulted include Assistant Commissioner Revenue and the concerned Tehsildar of the area.
Officials said that a team of revenue officers comprising Assistant Commissioner Revenue, and the concerned Tehsildar was surveying a road in the area and while they were busy doing so, the DDC member, Arin, who has been identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din reached the spot and engaged in fiery arguments with the officials on the spot.
The eye-witnessed said that as the heated spat intensified, the DDC member manhandled the senior official as well as the concerned Tehsildar.
Following the incident, the officials complained to the concerned police station after which an FIR was registered against Glulam Mohi-ud-Din, the DDC Member and further investigation set in motion.
