SAMBA, Aug 16: Apni Party Provincial President, Manjit Singh today demanded adequate drinking water and electricity supply in Chak Chiba in Samba district.
Addressing a joining programme organised at Chak Chiba, Samba District in which over 3 dozen people joined Apni Party, the Former Minister said that it was unfortunate to see disparity with the downtrodden section of society. District President, Samba, Raman Thappa was also present on the occasion.
“The SC community has complained against the PDD and Jal Shakti Department with regard to the supply of drinking water and electricity. The unscheduled power cuts have worsened the life of people in Chak Chiba and its adjoining villages,” said Manjit Singh.
He said there seems no development in residential colonies of the Schedule Caste community which shows the selective approach of the administration.
“The inequality in the society must end with regard to development. There is a general complaint of the SC community that their localities remain underdeveloped whether lanes, drains or matter of cleanliness. The concerns are not being addressed by the authorities,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that “The Apni Party does not differentiate with anyone on the basis of caste, creed, colour and religion.”
He reminded a political party of its unfulfilled developmental promises while citing examples of the worse condition of roads, lanes and drains. The complaint against unscheduled power cuts has grown with the passage of time even as the Government had warned against power shutdown without permission,” he said.
He said that the villagers in the border belt should be provided basic amenities.
