JAMMU, Dec 22: A ten-member delegation of All Party Migrants Coordination Committee, (APMCC) representing Kashmiri Pandits today called on Dr Jitendra Singh, BJP National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson of party’s J&K unit and discussed various issues including the Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill with him.
The delegation also included the representatives of various temple committees in Valley also.
The meeting was as a part of APMCC’s “Mission Contact” programme to seek the help of prominent leaders from the State for resolving their six-point charter of demands which includes smooth passage of Kashmiri Hindu Temples and Shrines Management Bill in the Legislature, probe into multi-crore temple/shrines land encroachment in Kashmir, dialogue with Pakistan for facilitating visit to Shardha Peeth Temple in PoJK, establishment of Shardha Peeth University in J&K, one time compensation for over-aged Migrant Kashmiri Hindu youth and special employment package for non-Migrant Hindus of Kashmir valley.
Dr Jitendra Singh after hearing the delegation reiterated that ever since the day of mass exodus from Kashmir valley, the BJP had constantly and consistently fought for the cause of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community at different fora and would continue to do so in future as well.
He said, places of worship are a common heritage for the entire society and therefore their preservation ought to be the concern of all, irrespective of political or religious affiliations. Different sections of society as well as the Government should come forward to adopt a unanimous approach on such issues, he added.
The delegation briefed Dr Jitendra Singh about their long struggle of APMCC in this regard. It told Dr Jitendra that APMCC was on a last ditch attempt to contact all major leaders of J&K to seek their help and ask them to make their stand clear on the genuine issues of Kashmiri Pandits before it decides to go ahead for another historic struggle to resolve its six-point charter of demands.
The delegation was lead by Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC and comprised of King Bharati, National Spokesperson APMCC and Gangbal Trust, Advocate Arun Kandroo, its general secretary, Advocate Rajesh Tingloo, Incharge Legal Cell, Vimarsh Koul and Tej Krishan Zutshi, Soom Nath Saraf, Tej Krishan Dhar, Shuban Pandita, Rajinder Raina, Yoginder Singh Jamwal Girdhari Lal Bhat, Suresh Pandita, Sohan Lal Raina, Bansi Lal Pandita and Sumesh Raina.
