APGAI discusses scope of aromatic plants in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh

JAMMU, Feb 5: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Former minister Randhir Singh and National President Aromatic and Medicinal Plants Growers Association of India (APGAI) to discuss the issues regarding the scope of aromatic plants in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
Randhir Singh said that in this connection he has written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he got the reply from PMO that National Horticulture Board is considering integrated commercial horticulture development project in open field conditions on project mode.
“I had also written to Lt Governor GC Murmu that in past the previous Governments totally neglected this sector and demanded enquiry against the officers, who never cooperated with the Central Team”, Singh added.
Singh said aroma plants, which are prevalent in J&K for which baseline survey has already been conducted by the APGAI and APGAI is also willing to provide the technical help to the J&K if invited to do so for the welfare of the UT.
The newly elected member present in the meeting include Dr Liaquat Ali Magray, President APGAI, Jammu Province, Saifullah Khan, President APGAI Kashmir Province, RC Bali, Chief Spokesman, Krishan Kumar Digra, General Secretary APGAI J&K, Kuldip Singh Jaral APGAI President District Doda, Bodh Raj Salaria APGAI President District Ramban and Dev Saroop Bali APGAI President Tehsil Billawar, Abdul Akbar Chisti, General Secretary APGAI J&K and Des Raj Raina APGAI District President Kathua.
