JAMMU, Aug 21: Association of Industries (AoI), Gangyal has demanded extension in the date for filing of GST returns in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of the AoI held today under the chairmanship of Bansi Lal Gupta, senior vice president, Gangyal in presence of Ashok Jain, vice president, Pardeep Vaid, general secretary, Sandeep Ohri, secretary, Lavinder Singh Puri, treasurer AoI, Gangyal, the members discussed the difficulties being faced by the industrial units of J&K in filing of GST returns due to suspension of internet services in J&K for the last so many days, resulting into total disruption in the Industrial activities.
It is pertinent to mention here that internet services have been snapped in the State since August 05,2019. It is not possible for the unit holders to transfer the funds for the deposit of GST for the month of July, 2019 & filing of GST returns on or before August 20,2019.
Further, due to suspension in internet services in our State, members are also facing problem in filing their personal Income Tax returns and online tenders of State as well as Govt. of India.
AoI has requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik and KKSharma, Advisor to the Governor to take up the matter with Union Finance Minister for the extension of date for deposit and filing of GST and Income Tax returns and tenders of State/Central Govt till the restoration of internet service across the State.
