AOI organizes health check-up camp

Dignitaries inaugurating a cancer screening and health awareness camp in Bhaderwah.

BHADERWAH, May 8: American Oncology Institute (AOI) in association with Health and Medical Education Department and World Cancer Care today organized a free cancer screening and general health awareness camp at SDH Bhaderwah.
In this Camp about 450 patients were screened by a team of Oncology specialists Dr. Nadeem Shoket (Medical Oncologist) and Dr. Surbhi Kudyar (Breast Cancer Surgery Specialist).
Patients from different parts of Doda attended the Camp inaugurated by DC Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan at Sub District Hospital Bhaderwah.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said, “Besides screening tests the Camp was aimed to aware about early detection in the public. The key to survive in cancer is early diagnosis and prevention. With this Camp, our aim is to motivate people for regular screening.”
“We offered free tests and services like Mammography, Bone Densitometry, Pap Smear, PSA and other lab tests along with free Oncology, Gynaecology and general consultations in the Camp,” said Dr. Ashutosh Gupta of AOI.
“In its continued efforts to bring in the most advanced technology in cancer care to the region, AOI is empanelled under Ayushman Bharat scheme and is doing free of cost treatment regularly under this scheme at AOI Jammu,” he maintained.
