JAMMU, Oct 6: Association of Industries (AoI)-Gangyal, Jammu along with GST Commissionerate conducted GST awareness programme here today.
The Commissioner of Central Tax, Goods & Service Tax Commissionerate, in coordination with AoI, Gangyal organized the seminar on GST in the premises of AoI Bhawan, Gangyal, Jammu.
The seminar was presided over by Jayapal J, Assistant Commissioner of Central Tax, GST Commissionerate Jammu division. During his welcome address, Rattan Dogra, president expressed his gratitude to Goods & Service Tax Commissionerate team for their sincere efforts in organizing such awareness programme. Dogra was hopeful that members will take advantage of this programme for clarifying their GST related issues with a special focus on issues related to filing of statutory returns, understanding the system of reverse charge mechanism etc.
He further emphasized that such programmes are much useful for entrepreneurs from the tiny and micro sector and so they should take advantage of such opportunity for the clarification of their queries.
Jayapal made a detailed presentation on the silent features of Goods and Services Tax provisions and payments, input tax credit, transition rules, filing of monthly returns etc. They also had extensive discussions on the GST with the entrepreneurs and replied to some queries raised by the members. The entrepreneurs appreciated the efforts made by GST Commissionerate Jammu team along with the Association for conducting this awareness programme and hoped that such programs will be conducted in future also whenever there are changes/ amendments in the GST Act.
The GST awareness programme was attended by the prominent members of the Association along with office bearers of AoI, namely Bansi Lal Gupta – senior vice president, Pardeep Vaid-general secretary and Lavinder Singh Puri- treasurer.
