UDHAMPUR, Jan 7: A meeting of Association of Industries (AoI), Udhampur was held today under the chairmanship of its president Udhayveer Singh to discuss their demands.
The owners and managers of different industrial units of Battal Ballian participated in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, senior vice president of AoI, Raghubir Gandotra, said, “Battal Ballian Industrial area is one of the backward industrial areas of the State. This industry area is under SICOP but it pays no heed towards this area, as 90% of drains of this area are blocked, lights are not properly functioning and roads are in very worst conditions”.
He said that despite our repeated requests no heed was given by the SICOP. “For this reason few month back owners of the different units themselves got repaired the connectivity roads of Battal Ballian Industrial area from their own pockets”, he added.
He disclosed that now the Association has decided to launch a plantation drive under the name “Green Battal Ballian” in this area within couple of weeks. “Under this drive the Association will try to aware the unit holders as well as locals about the benefit of plantation. In first step the unit holder will plant trees inside their units, secondly plantation will be done on both side of roads and divider. And lastly plantation will be done in full industry area. The association has also taken the decision to beautify park situated in this area with the help of SICOP”, he added.
