JAMMU, July 5: Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand addressed the meeting of prominent workers’ organized by Block Congress Committee Akhnoor at Daskal today.
Whilke speaking on the occasion former DyCM appealed to the Central Government that the status of the state should be restored at the earliest. He said, people of J&K are paying a heavy price for the big blunders Committed by BJP regime. Most decisions taken instead of helping the people proved detrimental for their interests.
Former DyCM claimed the alienation among people has grown because of the “ill-advised and provocative policies” pursued by BJP. Honesty and political morality demanded the BJP to admit its failures and apologise to the people who have undergone a nightmarish era in the past seven years.
He advised the BJP against playing the “victim card”. Irony is not that the BJP is publicly admitting failure in deliverance, development and fulfilling aspirations of Jammu but brazenly offering excuses to hide the betrayal to those who vehemently mandated it with 25 seats in Legislative Assembly during 2014 elections. “They failed on all fronts in deliverance during the past seven years. The development and employment generation received a huge dent,” he said.
Tara Chand further said people want development, employment opportunities, better infrastructure and other basic requirements like adequate water and power supply. He said BJP is a dream seller party which makes lot of promises during elections. But after getting power, they act as mute spectator to their sufferings. BJP made tall claims of creating jobs for the youths, however, the unemployment rate is increasing in the country. He observed that BJP regime has antagonized all sections of people whether it is the youth, government employees, women or even children, this government has hurt every section of the society.
He regretted that people of the Jammu region are back stabbed by BJP leadership as the Party has brazenly abandoned its core agenda and has adopted indifferent approach towards problems of the masses. He said that there is strong resentment among people of Jammu region towards BJP, which miserably failed to address even basic issues of people. He deliberated upon various problems being faced by public in absence of an elected Government.
Dwarka Nath, BDC Chairman, Pt Govind Ram Sharma, Varun Magotra, Capt Kalidas, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Bodh Raj Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
