JAMMU, Feb 6: Continuing its special drive against illegal rehries/pharies and encroachers causing traffic congestion and obstructing free movement of pedestrians on footpaths, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today cleared many footpaths of encroachments and seized 2 trucks of material from the encroachers.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Rev), JMC, Vinakshi Koul and Chief Enforcement Officer, Rajesh Gupta. During the drive, Revenue Officers, Parmod Kumar, Ashwani Sudan and Sunil Gupta of JMC and other Enforcement staff of JMC were also present.
The drive was conducted in the areas viz Shalamar Road, City Chowk, Old Hospital Road, Purani Mandi, Raj Tilak Road, Parade, Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, etc. During the drive, the enforcement team of JMC removed encroachments and cleared the footpaths and pavements.
The team seized 2 trucks of material like trunks, solar plates, gas heaters, juicer mixer, etc displayed by the shopkeepers/phariwalas in front of their shops and footpaths causing traffic congestion and free flow of pedestrians.
