POONCH, June 23: An anti-encroachment drive was conducted today in Mendhar town.
The drive was conducted in order to remove the encroachments of footpaths, drains and lanes of town in view of frequent complaints of traffic jams, water logging and unhygienic conditions of the market.
The anti-encroachment drive was led by SDM Mendhar, Dr Sahil Jandyal along with Tehsildar Mendhar Vikram Kumar, NT Mendhar and others. During the drive, many illegal structures were removed/demolished from road sides of the town.
Meanwhile, SDM Mendhar appealed the general public for cooperation and urged them to help the administration in keeping the city neat and clean. He also urged them to desist from any sort of encroachment in future.
Sarpanchs of town also participated in the drive actively.
