Anti-encroachment drive by MC in Jawahar Nagar

RAJOURI, Aug 10: Launching anti-encroachment drive in Jawahar Nagar area in Rajouri city today, the Municipal Council authorities, Rajouri removed pucca slabs laid on the drains on both sides of the road in front of the shops with the help of JCBs.
Under the supervision of MC Rajouri President Arif Jatt and Vice President Bharat Bhushan Vaidya, the Executive Officer Rajouri, Yaqub Ahmed started the anti- encroachment drive. During this special drive, action was taken on both sides of the road from Children Park in Jawahar Nagar to Khandali bridge. This whole area was cleared.
MC Chairman said that in Jawahar Nagar area, especially in front of shops on both sides, the people have laid pucca slabs over the drains, due to which the drains often get choked and when it rains, the dirty water flows on the roads and it turns into large water channel. Due to this, apart from the common passers-by, the shopkeepers also have to face problems.
To overcome this problem, the pucca slabs are being removed and shopkeepers have been warned not to cover drains with pucca slabs again. He claimed that this drive will be continued in other parts of Rajouri City as well in coming days.
