Anti-encroachment-cum-illegal mining drive conducted

JAMMU, Jan 31: Anti-encroachment-cum-illegal mining drive was conducted in Village Kothar of Tehsil Dansal.
As per official sources, during the drive, a pathway belonging to CPWD Department (as per record) 2 kilometer in length and 12 feet wide which was blocked and encroached at various places has been cleared and is through now.
“State land (Roshni) measuring 21 kanals worth around 90 lakh situated in Village Kothar has been retrieved”, official sources said, adding that around 4 to 5 illegal structures were demolished during the process.
Official sources informed that illegal dumping sites that were identified were also raided and around 500 metric tonnes of sand has been seized and handed over to Geology and Mining Department for legal action, adding that boards indicating state land and pathway were also installed at the desired locations.
The drive was led by Tehsildar Dansal Dhruv Gupta and was assisted by officials of Revenue Department including NT, GQ, Patwari, Lamberdar, Chowkidar, SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh, Incharge Police Post Manwal, large number of police personnel and officials from Geology and Mining Department.
