ANTF conducts raids in Punjab, arrests most wanted inter-state drug dealer

JAMMU, Apr 28: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) J&K has conducted raids at Balachaur and Kathgarh and Nawashehar areas in Punjab and arrested one most wanted inter-state drug dealer.
The arrested dealer was wanted in a case registered under Number 03/2022 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act with Police Station ANTF Jammu. He was the main receiver of narcotics and psychotropic drugs which are smuggled from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab. He was operating from Kathgarh and its adjoining areas including Balachaur and Nawashehar in Punjab.
In connection with the investigation of the above cited case, a team of ANTF was constituted which was led by Inspector Ankush Chib and SI Amandeep Singh under supervision of DySP Arun Jamwal and SSP ANTF J&K Vinay Sharma.
The team conducted series of raids in Balachaur, Kathgarh and Nawashehar areas in Punjab and arrested the most wanted drug dealer who was identified as Bachittar Singh, son of Daleep Singh of Village Jandi Kathgarh, Nawashehar Punjab.
He used to deposit money in the accounts of drug dealers of South Kashmir who further send the drugs by concealing in trucks going from Kashmir valley to Nawashehar Punjab where Bachittar Singh used to collect the drugs and sell it to the local youth of the area to earn huge money.
With the arrest of this main notorious drug dealer, ANTF Jammu has been able to break the forward chain network of narcotics and psychotropic drugs from Kashmir valley to Punjab.
SSP ANTF J&K Vinay Sharma added that concrete efforts also being made to break down the supply chain of this drug racket. Meanwhile he also appealed to the general public particularly youth to stay away from drugs.
He further appealed to general public to share any kind of information regarding drug related activities with ANTF so that strict legal actions can be taken against such drug dealers.
