ANTF arrests 2 notorious drug peddlers with heroin

JAMMU, Apr 19: Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, specialized unit to check rising menace of drugs, achieved another success after it foiled a bid to deal in heroin worth lakhs of rupees.
According to SP ANTF Vinay Sharma, ANTF Jammu received specific information that two persons namely Nazir Ahmed, son of Mohd Amin of Zangibad, Nowgam Srinagar and Ayaz Ahmed, son of Kamgar Malik of Akramabad Doda are coming near Balidan Stambh Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu for selling heroin to some local youth.
“On this information, ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid naka near Balidan Stambh Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu. The above mentioned persons were intercepted by the ANTF team in a white colour Alto car bearing registration number JK02CK-1444 and during search, 160 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession”, SP added.
“Both of them have been arrested in the instant case and alto car has been seized. A case has been registered under relevant sections under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Anti Narcotics Task Force is investigating further links. More arrests are expected”, SP Vinay Sharma informed.
He appealed to the general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that appropriate legal actions are taken against them and this menace is uprooted from our society.
