Another girl becomes victim of hair cut gang

JAMMU, Aug 21: Another girl hailing from village Chakroi of RS Pura became victim of the hair cut gang.
As per police sources, a 16-year-old girl namely Rekha Devi, daughter of Des Raj, a resident of village Chakroi of RS Pura found her hair cut, when she was getting ready for the school today morning.
The girl informed her parents, who reported the matter to RS Pura Police Station.
A police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary reached the spot and took cognizance of the issue.
This is the fifth such incident in the past one week under the jurisdiction of RS Pura Sub Division.
When contacted, SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary said that it is a mystery which needs time to get solved.
“I am sending the hair cut samples to laboratory to check out the equipments used for cutting the hair”, he said, adding that police is investigating all the angels to reveal the mystery behind.
Three such incidents had taken place in Bishnah, one in Treva Arnia and one in RS Pura, he informed.
With the rise in the hair cut incidents, the women working in open fields and those also who travel to reach their work place by foot or by any transport means are reeling under extreme fear.
Police should take action and depute special teams to identify the persons behind cutting the hair of women especially school going girl children, a victim girl said.
