JAMMU, June 25: The 10-day long Shree Buda Amarnath Ji annual Yatra will start from July 28 with first batch leaving here early in the morning for holy shrine in Mandi area of Poonch district.
This was announced by Bajrang Dal (BD) national convener, Neeraj Dhanoria while talking to reporters here ,today along with VHP State president, Rajesh Gupta.
He said first batch of the Yatra will be flagged off early in the morning of June 28 while on July 27 Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and VHP national general secretary, Milan Pandey will perform Bhoomi Punjab and other rituals at Abhinav Theatre Jammu.
He said 10 day long Yatra will culminate on August 7.
He said the BD activists and social activists of Jammu have finalised arrangements for Yatra enroute right from Akhnoor to holy shrine and there is lot of enthusiasm among them.
The pilgrims coming from different parts of country and J&K will stay at Shri Amarnath Yatri Niwas Base Camp Bhagwatinagar , he said.
He said due to terrorism the Hindus had started migrating from Rajouri and Poonch districts and to stop this migration BD started Buda Amarnath Ji Yatra in 2005 and this yielded results as migration of Hindus from two districts was stopped and those who had migrated also returned to their homes and hearths.
Dhanoria made an appeal to J&K Government that in view of increasing number of Buda Amarnath Ji pilgrims every year Yatra Bhawans be constructed at Rajouri and Poonch district headquarters so that yatris get facilities and also their security is ensured.
He demanded besides fool proof security arrangements for pilgrims, the Rajouri to Poonch road should also be renovated.
Sudershan Khajuria, general secretary, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatra Niyas and regional convener of BD ,Kartik Sudan were present in the press conference also.
