JAMMU, Oct 21: Anila Singh Charak, a poetess, satirist and ‘ghazalkar’, has been conferred with Bhartiya Kala Rattan Samman by Bhartiya Sanskritik Sanstha Bhopal.
The award will be presented to Charak on October 29 in a ceremony held at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. She is the recipient of Best Book Award which was conferred upon her by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu in 2008.
Apart from that, she is recipient of many honours by reputed organizations of India viz. Sahitya Shri Samman by Bhartendu Harish Chander Samiti Kota (Rajasthan) and Nari Rattan Samman by Kavya Rangoli organizations (UP), Vagh Samman by Vagh Samiti (Kolkata) and Bharat Shiksha Rattan Samman by Global Society Health and Education (Delhi). In the field of Education, Charak has got Homi Bhabha Samman as a good principal in Bhabha Research Centre Mumbai and NPCIL Kota.
Anila Singh Charak has served as principal in Navodaya Vidayalaya, Nud (Samba) and thereafter she joined as principal in Atomic Energy Education Society, Mumbai under Department of Atomic Energy Commission, Mumbai. Starting her career in Bhabha Research centre Mumbai, she served in many schools/colleges located in different atomic centres viz NPCIL, HWP, Centre for Adva-nced Technology and Bhabha Research Centres.
She is a multifaceted personality and apart from a good poetess and ‘vyangkar’, she is also a talented painter. She has organized solo exhibition in P-Xangpo Art Gallery of Jammu University. She is also involved in playwriting and has participated in various radio plays. She has also worked as anchor and news reader in Jammu Doordarshan for more than six years.
Anila has also played Nationals in Cricket and represented India against Newzealand.
