JAMMU, Feb 7: Anganwadi Workers and Helpers will stage a protest demonstration on February 15, 2021 demanding release of their pending salaries.
In a press conference here today Swarna Choudhary, president Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association has appealed to the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to participate in the protest.
She said that wages of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers have not been paid for the last seven months from July 2020 to Jan 2021 and even the three months salary from January to March for the year 2019 has not been paid to them.
Neelam Sharma, Association general secretary said that State share of honorarium of these workers and helpers has been withheld without any justification from December 2019 to till date due to which these workers and helpers are facing financial crisis.
She demanded retirement benefits like gratuity, leave salary etc for these workers and helpers and the Government should declare them as Government employees.
Implementation of Minimum Wages Act for Anganwadi Workers and Helpers was also demanded.
The Association leaders also demanded posting of CDPO at Block level as many Blocks presently have no CDPO due to which monthly meetings are not being held.
They urged upon the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and resolve the issues of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers.
