Andrabi reviews arrangements for J&K Hajj pilgrims at Mecca

MECCA (SAUDI ARABIA), Sept 10: In order to ensure adequate facilities for pilgrims of Jammu and Kashmir during Hajj-2016, Minister of Hajj & Auqaf, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today took stock of arrangements, facilities and safety measures being provided to the pilgrims of J&K at Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Executive Officer, State Hajj Committee Qamer Sajad, Hajj Officer Mohammad Haroon and senior officials of Hajj Committee were present on the occasion.
The Minister was informed that 32 Khudam-ul-Hujaj from J&K are in Saudi Arabia to guide and facilitate the Hajj pilgrims. He was informed that on the directions of the Chief Minister & Chairperson of the J&K State Hajj Committee, Mehbooba Mufti, State Hajj Committee conducted disaster management drill for the first time in Mecca, in which all Khudam-ul-Hujaj as well as volunteers and young Hajjis were trained.
He directed officials to personally monitor all facilities being provided to the pilgrims. He also directed that all agencies responsible for the conduct of Hajj-should work in close coordination to render best services for the convenience of the pilgrims from J&K.
Andrabi also stressed to create 24×7 help line number for the pilgrims of J&K, in case of any emergency.
