Anantnag family plead innocence of their son, stage protest

Srinagar, Feb 15: Family members of an alleged militant who was earlier arrested by police for his involvement in killing three BJP workers last year, today stage protest pleading his innocence.
The family member of Zahoor Ahmad Rather said that their son is innocent and has nothing to do with militancy after he surrendered in 2006.
The family claimed that was allegedly taken away from the rented accommodation where he was living with his wife and two children on February 13 and since then they don’t anything about his whereabouts.
“We went to the police station Dooru and there they told us that they have not picked him up; we appeal the LG to kindly look into it and deliver justice,” his family members said.
The family also appealed to the police and higher-ups to let them know the whereabouts of their son, who as per the family, used to dry fruits to earn his livelihood.
The family alleged that their son was being implicated in the case. “He is being implicated and has nothing to do with the militancy after he surrendered in 2006,” they said.
They said that Zahoor is suffering from various ailments and that he’s innocent and has got nothing do with the killing of the BJP workers. They also negate the police statement in this regard which stated that Zahoor was associated with the TRF.
