JAMMU, July 1: Special Secretary, Animal/Sheep Husbandry Department Amit Sharma conducted surprise inspections of various Veterinary and Sheep Husbandry Centers located across Jammu and Samba districts along with a team of officers of both the departments in last couple of days.
Lot of old structures and new buildings which have been recently constructed under ESVHD and RIDF Centrally sponsored schemes were also covered during the inspection tour.
While conducting physical inspections of various buildings, Amit Sharma pointed out various issues such as proper display of boards, proper upkeep of department’s infrastructure, timely intimation of shortage of medicines, advance anticipation of seasonal requirements so as to avoid outbreak of epidemics, conducting of awareness camps, upkeep of migratory equipment in Mobile Centers, etc.
The staff of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments assured of taking immediate necessary action in this behalf.
It was apprised to Amit Sharma that acute shortage of staff in these Centers, right from attendants to Animal/Sheep Husbandry Doctors was a challenge which needs to be countered as soon as possible by the Administrative Department.
Moreover, they requested for putting boundary walls in few centers alongwith sanction of water/electricity connections in newly constructed Centers.
Various Centers covered during the tour included Mobile Centers of Sheep Department located at Surinsar and Mansar, RCD Center Mansar, Block Veterinary Hospital-cum-District Center Samba, First-Aid Center Dhanot, Veterinary Dispensary Supwal, Sub Center Ghagwal, RCD Center Sumb and Poultry Demonstration Center Vijaypur.
Special Secretary gave patient hearing to all the issues of employees and assured immediate action.
He also exerted upon employees of both Animal and Sheep Husbandry Departments to work in close tandem for overall benefit of sheep and poultry rearing community all across J&K.
