Amit reviews revenue achievement of Udh, Reasi

JAMMU, June 2: Regional Director Survey and Land Records (Ex-Officio Settlement Officer) Udhampur and Reasi districts Amit Sharma held a review meeting of revenue officers of Reasi and Udhampur districts today.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars and Nabi Tehsildars of both the districts wherein progress achieved in revenue records including preparation of jamabandis, girdawaris and mutation registers were reviewed for all Tehsils and Niabats of Udhampur and Reasi districts.
Amit Sharma took the views of revenue officers about improvement in the functioning of the Department and he took decisions regarding improvement in the deliverance of services to the public and masses.
He decided that two specialized camps for in-depth training of Patwaries in Udhampur as well as Reasi districts will be organised very soon to sensitise them about the Bandobast (Settlement) operations as well as acquainting them with step as to be taken for specialization work of computerization of land records under ongoing Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme.
During the meeting, Regional Director also decided that lot of camps in both hilly districts will be organised along with a team of revenue specialists which will assist field revenue officials of those areas in on-time targeted completion of Jamabandies as per circular issued in this behalf from time to time. Lot of revenue officers also shared their difficulties such as poor quality of revenue stationery, lack of properly trained staff, excessive pressure of multifarious works, etc which was being taken-up with appropriate authorities for redressal.
Revenue staff of Reasi as well as Udhampur districts assured Amit Sharma that they will fully cooperate in scanning of records of all villages in which Naib Tehsildars of concerned Niabats will ensure deputing of Patwaries of concerned villages to get the data scanned, cross-checked and verified before finally being incorporated in a digital form.
It was also decided that a whatsapp group will be constituted comprising of all settlement officials of these two districts to facilitate direct communication, speedy progress and direct approvals as a part of e-Governance mission of Regional Director Amit Sharma.
