LEH, Aug 18: Amit Sharma, Secretary, Science and Technology, Union Territory of Ladakh here today visited the Leh campus of the University of Ladakh for an interactive session with the faculty and students.
Prof. S.K. Mehta, Vice-Chancellor of the University, welcomed the dignitary by offering khatags. Pertinently, it is the first visit of Amit Sharma to the University of Ladakh after assuming charge as Administrative Secretary of multiple departments in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Amit expressed his intention to help the University on a large scale and also asked faculty members to develop new innovative projects. He assured that administration of Union Territory of Ladakh led by Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier Dr B.D Mishra (Retd) and Advisor Dr Pawan Kotwal would leave no stone unturned to give Ladakh which it deserves since long. He also shared that soon Science and Technology Council will be established in the UT of Ladakh which shall facilitate more and more customised projects here related to the local needs and compulsions.
During his address, Amit Sharma spelled several initiatives being taken by administration of Ladakh wherein involvement of University of Ladakh would be paramount. Later, he appreciated the academic and administrative works being carried out under Prof. S.K. Mehta, Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh wished University team to achieve more heights for the UT in the times to come.
